Baldivis Ward Candidate
Standing for Baldivis Ward to deliver integrity, family-focused leadership, and a community-led future.
My name is Eternity Hausen, and I am proud to nominate myself for election to the Baldivis City Council. I bring a combination of military service, lived experience of adversity, executive leadership, and training that has prepared me to contribute meaningfully to the future of our community.
For over 19 years, I have proudly served in the Australian Army, , both full-time and now as a part-time Intelligence Analyst in the Army Reserve. This service has shaped my values and character. The discipline, resilience, and sense of duty that come with military life have stayed with me, and at the centre of it all is the value of service. Service has been the guiding principle in my career, my community work, and my personal life. Supporting veterans and their families remains a passion of mine, and I know how important it is for our community to provide recognition and practical support to those who have served.
Beyond military service, I have built a career across health and community sectors, with a particular focus on mental health and homelessness. I have worked in multidisciplinary settings, including allied health services, and I bring both executive and clinical perspectives. I have served as CEO of a national mental health organisation and contributed at board level to not-for-profits. I hope to use the skills and expertise I have developed to communicate local views across different forums. Communicating your views is essential in shaping responsible decisions that reflect the needs of our growing community.
Like many in our community, I have walked paths that have not been easy. I am a survivor of a violent crime, have experienced family and domestic violence as a child and a brief period of homelessness. Those experiences have deepened my empathy and commitment to creating safer, stronger neighbourhoods. I am deeply passionate about addressing homelessness and housing insecurity. Secure housing is a foundation for wellbeing, yet many individuals and families are experiencing instability. From my work in the not-for-profit sector, I know that housing challenges are rarely the result of one issue but often arise from complex and interconnected circumstances. I believe councils play an important role in supporting initiatives that strengthen community safety nets and provide pathways to stability.
I also stand at a personal milestone, preparing to become a new mother. Entering parenthood has already given me insight into the pressures women and families face, particularly in balancing work, caregiving, and community life. I know that decisions made at the local level ripple into the daily lives of parents, carers, and children, and I will bring that awareness into council discussions. If elected, when engaging with residents, I will ensuring that their voices are represented in decision-making.
Baldivis is a community of growth, diversity, and resilience. With growth comes both opportunity and challenge, and it is vital that we maintain a strong focus on shaping decisions that reflect our shared values. My goal is to ensure that the perspectives of our community are heard, respected, and integrated into the choices we make together.
